Copy Cat Inspiration Photo

Just saw this gorgeous fireplace/bookcase set-up over on Emily's blog,
and just had to share it here.

I love everything about this.  It's amazing what some paint can do to make a wall of built-ins + TV look really rich and custom.  I think the gray is perfect.  And the herringbone pattern of the bricks...really perfect.

Nursery Fabrics

I just ordered the fabrics for our little girl's nursery.  From about a dozen samples I ordered from fabric.com, I landed on these three.  All are from Ty Pennington's Impressions Collection...

 {papercut spice} - curtains

{tudor taupe} - pillows/accents

{lace spice} - pillows/accents

I'm also mixing in some light aqua - you know that great vintage aqua?  I ordered the glider in that color, and also picked up some aqua & taupe ticking stripe fabric for the crib skirt. See how great the coral & aqua look together?  This combo isn't just for beach houses anymore...

And while I was perusing the internet for coral & aqua images, I came across these...

from Tilly Whistle, on etsy

Too adorable.  And too perfect for our little girl and her nursery.  Because every girl needs shoes to match her bedroom, right?  Just may have to order a pair.  Mmm...or both.

{Living Room - Glam Girl}

I created my first room inspiration board on polyvore.com. Can you say new addiction?!? I am in serious trouble. But it was oh so fun.

A glam living room, with a feminine flare...Black & Gold LR...with a touch of pink
{check out the details here}

I'm loving this color combo. In fact, the outfit I wore to work today is what inspired this little diddy - gray pants, pink top, and just a touch of black & gold in my accessories.

Gray in the Kitchen

I've expressed my love for white kitchens here before, in this post. I still love them. But these days, I'm also loving a little gray in the kitchen. Whether it's all gray cabinetry, an island painted gray, or even just gray walls with white cabinetry...I love it. Especially when it's paired with white subway tile and topped off with calcutta or cararra marble.

All of these kitchens have a very Italian or Parisian cafe feel, which I love. Don't you just want to be in one of them right now, sipping wine and nibbling on cheese and a fresh baguette? Yeah, me too.

Secrets on my DVR

HGTV

Just watched the first episode of Secrets From A Stylist...Emily Henderson's new show. I think it will be a nice addition to my already expansive HGTV line-up on the 'ole DVR. I like how she nailed down the couple's individual styles, via her "Style Diagnostics" exercise, and then blended them together. She actually styled the room twice, which I wasn't expecting. But the end result was just what the couple wanted. I liked it. Not in love with the wall color, but everything else was great. Especially the couch! I want that couch! Can you believe it was only $50 + upholstery? Now I'm even more convinced I need to find a good (affordable!) upholsterer. The hunt is on.

Lamp Lust

In the market for a lamp, or 10? Wish I was. During my last trip to HomeGoods, I spotted these beauties, all of which were very reasonably priced. Like $39-$59. I wanted to take them home...every single one of them.

I really have a thing for lamps. And mirrors. And pillows. All of which are found in abundance at HomeGoods. It's a miracle when I leave empty handed. Not that it happens often.

"I'm Dreamin' of a Whiiiite...Kitchen."

I was just perusing one of my favorite blogs, Life in the Fun Lane, and Holly's got some gorgeous kitchen inspiration photos posted today. This one is my absolute favorite...

Oh my. It's everything I want in a kitchen...bright, white, the perfect mix of vintage/cottage/modern loveliness. And how dreamy is that sunlight streaming in? Extra dreamy. It's a shame my love for white kitchens really sprouted AFTER we picked the not-so-white kitchen finishes for our new home a couple of years ago. I can't complain about the kitchen I have now, but someday I'd love to have one just as bright and cheerful as this one. Anyone know where this lovely photo came from???

{update} I just found out this kitchen belongs to Kelley of The Polished Pebble. Check out the details on her blog. Gorgeous!
